Description:
Rooted on our 80-acre family flower farm in Sebastopol, California, 8 Days creates botanical skin care rituals inspired by the plants we grow.
We are currently starting our national expansion strategy and are seeking a well-organized, hands-on, and detail-oriented individual to assist in our farm-to-bottle production kitchen in Sebastopol, CA.
The Production Kitchen Associate will be working closely with the Founder to manufacture formulas in bulk, package/label products, fulfill/ship orders, and assist with inventory management and daily operations.
The Production Associate will follow the specifications and standard operating procedures within the production facility and play a critical role in enhancing production and packaging efficiency, consistency, accuracy, safety and overall quality.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Hands-on participation in production, manufacturing and packaging of our 36 products: body wash, body butter, hydrosol sprays, bath soaks, and scrubs
- Review open retail/wholesale orders daily and fulfill and ship them, dropping them off at ship centers 2x per week
- Create 8 Days Kits- including making dried flower bouquets, assembling products, and shipping orders
- Preparing and submitting inventory lists for reorders of ingredients and packaging
- Create weekly production priority lists and input new orders
- Maintain sterile environment within kitchen following our standard operating procedures
- Weekly farming tasks including planting, weeding, harvesting, drying and processing herbs and flowers (May-September); tuesday drop offs at the Sonoma Herb Exchange
- Occasionally help with special events and attend events as needed (4-6x per year)
- Unload inbound shipments and keep kitchen space and inventory orderly and clean
Requirements:
Experience
- 1-2+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, farming or operations
- Experience working in a skincare/apothecary or production kitchen setting preferred
Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge
- Ability to work on site in Sebastopol 3 days a week- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (or similar)- with potential to become full time in September/October
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills and very detail oriented
- Ability to do multiple tasks at once and prioritize tasks
- Must be comfortable working alone and self-motivated
- Detail oriented with an eye on process improvement and optimization
- Understanding of OSHA guidelines for workplace safety and hazardous chemicals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to move around factory work stations.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds when needed.
- Knowledge of Shopify order and inventory tracking is a plus
- Marketing/social media experience or interest is a plus
- You are creative and interested in growing with the business
- You are organized and have a good memory
Compensation contingent upon experience. Range $17-22/hour
